Legend
Malin
Kundang
A
long long time ago in west Sumatra, Indonesia there was a fisherman
and his wife who lived in a village by the sea. They had
only one son. His name was Malin Kundang. They lived a
simple life because as a fisherman the husband did not earn much
money. Life got harder for Malin and his mother when his father
did not return from the sea. Perhaps a storm had swollen his
boat or maybe a big fish attacked him. Day by day passed
and they kept waiting for him. But Malin’s father never
returned. So little Malin had to help her mother sold cookies
in a local market.
One
day there was a big ship came to the beach of their village. It
was a merchant ship. Everybody came to see it including Malin.
He was very impressed by what he saw. Hoping to change his life
he applied for a job and he was lucky. He was recruited by the
ship owner. Then Malin left his mother and his village.
Many
years gone by without any news from Malin. Malin’s mother
missed him so much. Everyday she looked at the sea, hoping to
see Malin came home. She always prayed to God that Malin become
a successful merchant. Then God heard her pray.
On
a beautiful day there was a big ship came to the beach. Many
people came there to see it. Malin’s mother was expectant.
She was sure that it was Malin’s ship. So she hurriedly came
to the beach. When she was there she asked someone that she
wanted to see the owner of the ship. Then a lovely lady met
her. She wore a luxurious dress and jewellry. She was
Malin’s wife.
‘Is
Malin Kundang here?’
“Do
you know Malin?”
‘Yes,
of course I know him, he’s my son!’
‘But
Malin told me he had no mother. She passed away a long time
ago’.
Malin’s
mother was very surprised to hear her answer. Then Malin came.
Her wife asked him.
‘This
poor woman said that you are his son’
Malin
Kundang who had became a rich merchant and had a wife from a rich
family was ashame with his mother who looked poor. He denied
his humble background. So when her mother hugged him he
repelled her.
‘Malin,
my son, I miss you so much’.
‘Who
are you? I am not your son’.
Malin’s
mother was was crying. She was really irritated. Her
heart was deeply hurt. Then she prayed to God. And she
cursed Malin.
Suddenly
there was a storm. The sea was raging. Big wave came and
Malin’s ship was rushed ashore and destroyed. And Malin
suddenly changed into a stone statue. Today people can see
Malin’s statue in Teluk Bayur beach in west Sumatra. When
there is a storm or rain people often hear someone’s crying.
They believe it is Malin’s cry.
In
olden times, when the Lord himself still used to walk about on this
earth amongst men, it once happened that he was tired and overtaken
by the darkness before he could reach an inn. Now there stood
on the road before him two houses facing each other, the one large
and beautiful, the other small and poor. The large one belonged
to a rich man, and the small one to a poor man.
Then the Lord thought, I shall be no burden to the rich man. I will stay the night with him. Then the rich man heard someone knocking at his door, he opened the window and asked the stranger what he wanted. The Lord answered, I only ask for a night's lodging.
Then the rich man looked at the traveler from head to foot, and as the Lord was wearing common clothes, and did not look like one who had much money in his pocket, he shook his head, and said, no, I cannot take you in, my rooms are full of herbs and seeds. And if I were to lodge everyone who knocked at my door, I might very soon go begging myself. Go somewhere else for a lodging, and with this he shut down the window and left the Lord standing there.
So the Lord turned his back on the rich man, and went across to the small house and knocked. He had hardly done so when the poor man opened the little door and bade the traveler come in. Pass the night with me, it is already dark, said he. You cannot go any further to-night. This pleased the Lord, and he went in. The poor man's wife shook hands with him, and welcomed him, and said he was to make himself at home and put up with what they had got. They had not much to offer him, but what they had they would give him with all their hearts. Then she put the potatoes on the fire, and while they were boiling, she milked the goat, that they might have a little milk with them. When the cloth was laid, the Lord sat down with the man and his wife, and he enjoyed their coarse food, for there were happy faces at the table. When they had had supper and it was bed-time, the woman called her husband apart and said, listen, dear husband, let us make up a bed of straw for ourselves to-night, and then the poor traveler can sleep in our bed and have a good rest, for he has been walking the whole day through, and that makes one weary. With all my heart, he answered, I will go and offer it to him. And he went to the stranger and invited him, if he had no objection, to sleep in their bed and rest his limbs properly. But the Lord was unwilling to take their bed from the two old folks. However, they would not be satisfied, until at length he did it and lay down in their bed, while they themselves lay on some straw on the ground.
Next morning they got up before daybreak, and made as good a breakfast as they could for the guest. When the sun shone in through the little window, and the Lord had got up, he again ate with them, and then prepared to set out on his journey.
But as he was standing at the door he turned round and said, as you are so kind and good, you may wish three things for yourselves and I will grant them. Then the man said, what else should I wish for but eternal happiness, and that we two, as long as we live, may be healthy and have every day our daily bread. For the third wish, I do not know what to have. And the Lord said to him, will you wish for a new house instead of this old one. Oh, yes, said the man.
If I can have that, too, I should like it very much. And the Lord fulfilled his wish, and changed their old house into a new one, again gave them his blessing, and went on. The sun was high when the rich man got up and leaned out of his window and saw, on the opposite side of the way, a new clean-looking house with red tiles and bright windows where the old hut used to be. He was very much astonished, and called his wife and said to her, tell me, what can have happened.
Last night there was a miserable little hut standing there, and to-day there is a beautiful new house. Run over and see how that has come to pass. So his wife went and asked the poor man, and he said to her, yesterday evening a traveler came here and asked for a night's lodging, and this morning when he took leave of us he granted us three wishes - eternal happiness, health during this life and our daily bread as well, and besides this, a beautiful new house instead of our old hut.
When the rich man's wife heard this, she ran back in haste and told her husband how it had happened. The man said, I could tear myself to pieces. If I had but known that. That traveler came to our house too, and wanted to sleep here, and I sent him away. Quick, said his wife, get on your horse. You can still catch the man up, and then you must ask to have three wishes granted to you also. The rich man followed the good counsel and galloped away on his horse, and soon came up with the Lord. He spoke to him softly and pleasantly, and begged him not to take it amiss that he had not let him in directly. He was looking for the front-door key, and in the meantime the stranger had gone away. If he returned the same way he must come and stay with him. Yes, said the Lord. If I ever come back again, I will do so. Then the rich man asked if might not wish for three things too, as his neighbor had done.
Yes, said the Lord, he might, but it would not be to his advantage, and he had better not wish for anything. But the rich man thought that he could easily ask for something which would add to his happiness, if he only knew that it would be granted. So the Lord said to him, ride home, then, and three wishes which you shall make, shall be fulfilled. The rich man had now gained what he wanted, so he rode home, and began to consider what he should wish for. As he was thus thinking he let the bridle fall, and the horse began to caper about, so that he was continually disturbed in his meditations, and could not collect his thoughts at all. He patted its neck, and said, gently, lisa, but the horse only began new tricks. Then at last he was angry, and cried quite impatiently, I wish your neck was broken. Directly he had said the words, down the horse fell on the ground, and there it lay dead and never moved again. And thus was his first wish fulfilled. As he was miserly by nature, he did not like to leave the harness lying there. So he cut it off, and put it on his back. And now he had to go on foot. I have still two wishes left, said he, and comforted himself with that thought.
And now as he was walking slowly through the sand, and the sun was burning hot at noon-day, he grew quite bad-tempered and angry. The saddle hurt his back, and he had not yet any idea what to wish for. If I were to wish for all the riches and treasures in the world, said he to himself, I should still to think of all kinds of other things later on. I know that, beforehand. But I will manage so that there is nothing at all left me to wish for afterwards. Then he sighed and said, ah, if I were but that bavarian peasant, who likewise had three wishes granted to him, and knew quite well what to do, and in the first place wished for a great deal of beer, and in the second for as much beer as he was able to drink, and in the third for a barrel of beer into the bargain. Many a time he thought he had found it, but then it seemed to him to be, after all, too little.

had been fulfilled. Then he really did feel hot.
He
began to run and wanted to be quite alone in his own room at home, to
think of something really big for his last wish. But when he
arrived there and opened the parlor-door, he saw his wife sitting in
the middle of the room on the saddle, crying and complaining, and
quite unable to get off it. So he said, do bear it, and I will
wish for all the riches on earth for you, only stay where you are.
She, however, called him a fool, and said, what good will all the
riches on earth do me, if I am to sit on this saddle. You have
wished me on it, so you must help me off. So whether he would
or not, he was forced to let his third wish be that she should be
quit of the saddle, and able to get off it, and immediately the wish
was fulfilled. So he got nothing by it but vexation, trouble,
abuse, and the loss of his horse. But the poor people lived
contentedly, quietly, and piously until their happy death.
Cinderella
Once upon a time... there
lived an unhappy young girl. Unhappy she was, for her mother was
dead, her father had married another woman, a widow with two
daughters, and her stepmother didn't like her one little bit. All the
nice things, kind thoughts and loving touches were for her own
daughters. And not just the kind thoughts and love, but also dresses,
shoes, shawls, delicious food, comfy beds, as well as every home
comfort. All this was laid on for her daughters. But, for the
poor unhappy girl, there was nothing at all. No dresses, only her
stepsisters' hand-me-downs. No lovely dishes, nothing but scraps. No
nice rests and comfort. For she had to work hard all day, and only
when evening came was she allowed to sit for a while by the fire,
near the cinders. That is how she got her nickname, for everybody
called her Cinderella. Cinderella used to spend long hours all alone
talking to the cat. The cat said,
"Miaow", which really meant, "Cheer up! You have something neither of your stepsisters have and that is beauty."
It was quite true. Cinderella, even dressed in rags with a dusty gray face from the cinders, was a lovely girl. While her stepsisters, no matter how splendid and elegant their clothes, were still clumsy, lumpy and ugly and always would be.
One day, beautiful new dresses arrived at the house. A ball was to be held at Court and the stepsisters were getting ready to go to it. Cinderella, didn't even dare ask, "What about me?" for she knew very well what the answer to that would be:
"You? My dear girl, you're staying at home to wash the dishes, scrub the floors and turn down the beds for your stepsisters. They will come home tired and very sleepy." Cinderella sighed at the cat.
"Oh dear, I'm so unhappy!" and the cat murmured "Miaow".
Suddenly something amazing happened. In the kitchen, where Cinderella was sitting all by herself, there was a burst of light and a fairy appeared.
"Don't be alarmed, Cinderella," said the fairy. "The wind blew me your sighs. I know you would love to go to the ball. And so you shall!"
"How can I, dressed in rags?" Cinderella replied. "The servants will turn me away!" The fairy smiled. With a flick of her magic wand... Cinderella found herself wearing the most beautiful dress, the loveliest ever seen in the realm.
"Now that we have settled the matter of the dress," said the fairy, "we'll need to get you a coach. A real lady would never go to a ball on foot!"
"Quick! Get me a pumpkin!" she ordered.
"Oh of course," said Cinderella, rushing away. Then the fairy turned to the cat.
"You, bring me seven mice!"
"Seven mice!" said the cat. "I didn't know fairies ate mice too!"
"They're not for eating, silly! Do as you are told!... and, remember they must be alive!"
Cinderella soon returned with a fine pumpkin and the cat with seven mice he had caught in the cellar.
"Good!" exclaimed the fairy. With a flick of her magic wand... wonder of wonders! The pumpkin turned into a sparkling coach and the mice became six white horses, while the seventh mouse turned into a coachman, in a smart uniform and carrying a whip. Cinderella could hardly believe her eyes.
"I shall present you at Court. You will soon see that the Prince, in whose honor the ball is being held, will be enchanted by your loveliness. But remember! You must leave the ball at midnight and come home. For that is when the spell ends. Your coach will turn back into a pumpkin, the horses will become mice again and the coachman will turn back into a mouse... and you will be dressed again in rags and wearing clogs instead of these dainty little slippers! Do you understand?" Cinderella smiled and said,
"Yes, I understand!"
When Cinderella entered the ballroom at the palace, a hush fell. Everyone stopped in mid-sentence to admire her elegance, her beauty and grace.
"Who can that be?" people asked each other. The two stepsisters also wondered who the newcomer was, for never in a month of Sundays, would they ever have guessed that the beautiful girl was really poor Cinderella who talked to the cat!
When the prince set eyes on Cinderella, he was struck by her beauty. Walking over to her, he bowed deeply and asked her to dance. And to the great disappointment of all the young ladies, he danced with Cinderella all evening.
"Who are you, fair maiden?" the Prince kept asking her. But Cinderella only replied:
"What does it matter who I am! You will never see me again anyway."
"Oh, but I shall, I'm quite certain!" he replied.
Cinderella had a wonderful time at the ball... But, all of a sudden, she heard the sound of a clock: the first stroke of midnight! She remembered what the fairy had said, and without a word of goodbye she slipped from the Prince's arms and ran down the steps. As she ran she lost one of her slippers, but not for a moment did she dream of stopping to pick it up! If the last stroke of midnight were to sound... oh... what a disaster that would be! Out she fled and vanished into the night.
The Prince, who was now madly in love with her, picked up her slipper and said to his ministers,
"Go and search everywhere for the girl whose foot this slipper fits. I will never be content until I find her!" So the ministers tried the slipper on the foot of all the girls... and on Cinderella's foot as well... Surprise! The slipper fitted perfectly.
"That awful untidy girl simply cannot have been at the ball," snapped the stepmother. "Tell the Prince he ought to marry one of my two daughters! Can't you see how ugly Cinderella is! Can't you see?"
Suddenly she broke off, for the fairy had appeared.
"That's enough!" she exclaimed, raising her magic wand. In a flash, Cinderella appeared in a splendid dress, shining with youth and beauty. Her stepmother and stepsisters gaped at her in amazement, and the ministers said,
"Come with us, fair maiden! The Prince awaits to present you with his engagement ring!" So Cinderella joyfully went with them, and lived happily ever after with her Prince. And as for the cat, he just said "Miaow"!

As she ran she lost one of her slippers, but not for a moment did she dream of stopping to pick it up! If the last stroke of midnight were to sound... oh... what a disaster that would be! Out she fled and vanished into the night.
The Prince, who was now madly in love with her, picked up her slipper and said to his ministers,
"Go and search everywhere for the girl whose foot this slipper fits. I will never be content until I find her!" So the ministers tried the slipper on the foot of all the girls... and on Cinderella's foot as well... Surprise! The slipper fitted perfectly.
"That awful untidy girl simply cannot have been at the ball," snapped the stepmother. "Tell the Prince he ought to marry one of my two daughters! Can't you see how ugly Cinderella is! Can't you see?"
Suddenly she broke off, for the fairy had appeared.
"That's enough!" she exclaimed, raising her magic wand. In a flash, Cinderella appeared in a splendid dress, shining with youth and beauty. Her stepmother and stepsisters gaped at her in amazement, and the ministers said,
"Come with us, fair maiden! The Prince awaits to present you with his engagement ring!" So Cinderella joyfully went with them, and lived happily ever after with her Prince. And as for the cat, he just said "Miaow"!

LATAR BELAKANG
Microsoft Visio adalah software pembuat diagram dan flowchart bebasis vektor yang awalnya dibuat oleh Visio Corportion. Pada tahun 1995, Visio 4.0 dirilis. Ini merupakan versi Visio pertama yamg dapat berjalan di windows 95, dan sekaligus menjadi versi terakhir sng dibuat Visio Corporation. Bulan Januari 2000, Microsoft mengakuisisi Visio Corporation dengan membeli seluruh sahamnya. Ini merupakan akuasisi terbesar yang pernah Microsoft lakukan. Kini Visio merupakan salah satu defisi diMicrosoft dan terus mengembangkan software dengan nama barunya: Microsoft Office Visio. Visio mulai terintegrasi didalam Microsoft Office 2007. Sejumlah fitur baru ditambahkan, terutama diintegrasi antara data dan diagram, serta otomatisai dalam pembuatan bagan dan diagram.

Pengertian Microsoft Visio
Visio Corporation didirikan pada bulan September 1990, dengan nama Axon Corporation. Semua pendiri perusahaan tersebut merupakan jebolan dari Aldus Corporation, yakni Jeremy Jaech, Dave Walter (yang merupakan pendiri perusahaan Aldus) dan Ted Johnson (yang merupakan pemimpin proyek Aldus PageMaker for Windows).
Pada tahun 1992, sebelum merilis sebagai sebuah produk perangkat lunak, nama perusahaan tersebut diubah menjadi Shapeware. Dan, pada bulan November pada tahun yang sama, perusahaan ini pun merilis aplikasinya yang pertama, Visio.

Visio 2007 Standard dan Professional menawarkan antarmuka pengguna yang sama, tapi seri Professional menawarkan lebih banyak pilihan template untuk pembuatan diagram yang lebih lanjut dan juga penataan letak (layout). Selain itu, edisi Professional juga memudahkan pengguna untuk mengoneksikan diagram-diagram buatan mereka terhadap beberapa sumber data dan juga menampilkan informasi secara visual dengan menggunakan grafik.

Microsoft Visio ini adalah aplikasi yang digunakan untuk merancang suatu model perencanaan, model ini dimanfaatkan untuk kebutuhan developer maupun engineering yang didesain untuk berbagai macam kebutuhan.
Cara mengaktifkan Microsoft Visio
Adapun untuk mengaktifkan Microsoft visio adalah sebagai berikut :
1. Klik menu start di windows
2. Sorot kursor mouse di program dan klik u
3. Pilihlah shortcut menu Microsoft Visio dan klik mouse
4. Maka Kita mulai masuk pada menu visio sebagai berikut :
pilihan new drawing dapat pula dipilih dengan mengklik icon new yang terdapat pada toolbar menu.
Untuk menseting halaman yang ada di visio dapat diklik page setup pada menu file, sehingga akan muncul form page setup yang berisikan tab control yang terdiri dari print setup, page size, drawing scale, page properties dan layout routing
Dalam tab control print setup terdapat ukuran dari halaman yang akan digunakan, untuk merubah ukuran kertas yang akan digunakan pilihlah tombol ‚ pada combo box paper size yang tersedia. Pilihan paper orientation digunakan untuk menentukan pilihan bentuk cetakan yang akan digunakan yaitu berbentuk portrait atau landscape.
Jika ingin membuat jenis kertas dengan ukuran yang berbeda dari bentuk kertas yang ada, sorotlah tab control paper size dan pilihlah custom size pada menu paper size.
Tab control drawing scale digunakan untuk menentukan skala gambar yang akan kita buat dengan pilihan default no scale (jika skala yang digunakan 1 : 1). Untuk pilihan yang lain kita dapat menseting pada pilihan pre-defined scale dengan pilihan yang dapat dipakai yaitu : skala metrics, skala arsitektur, skala civil enginnering, maupun skala mekanik dengan perbandingan skala 1 : 1000 sampai dengan 50 : 1.
Tab control page properties digunakan untuk mendefinisikan tipe dari halaman visio yang kita buat, apakah berfungsi sebagai foreground page atau sebagai background page (akan dijelaskan lebih lanjut pada bab ....). Pada versi terbaru dari visio ini dikenalkan tab control shadows yang berfungsi memberi efek bayangan pada halaman visio.
Pada menu view terdapat beberapa sub menu pilihan yang dapat dipilih seperti penggunaan ruler (penggaris) yang jika dipilih sehingga tampak tanda ü pada menu tersebut akan memunculkan penggaris pada di atas drawing, seperti tampak pada gambar berikut

Untuk membuat gambar baru dengan bantuan template dibuat dengan cara :
· Pada menu file pilihlah new dan klik u
· Pilih choose drawing type dan klik mouse, sehingga dilayar akan tampak
· Pada taskpane category disebelah kiri layar pilih organization chart, dan pada template klik gambar organization chart di taskpane template seperti terlihat pada gambar di bawah ini :
5. Maka template organization chart telah siap untuk dirancang gambarnya
Pada Microsoft Visio 2003 terdapat sembilan buah menu. Menu-menu tersebut antara lain File, Edit, View, Insert, Format, Tools, Shape, Window, dan Help. Untuk setiap menu terdapat submenu sesuai dengan fungsi atau kegunaan masing-masing. Fungsi menu tersebut antara lain:
1. File: menu untuk mengatur yang berhubungan dengan file
seperti untuk membuat file baru, membuka file, menutup file,mengatur file, dan lain-lain.
2. Edit: menu untuk proses pengeditan seperti copy, paste, delete, dan lain-lain.
3. View: menu untuk mengatur tampilan lingkungan kerja Visio dan halaman pengerjaan.
4. Insert: menu untuk menyisipkan objek, gambar, simbol, komentar, dan lain-lain.
5. Format: menu untuk mengatur halaman pengerjaan.
6. Tools: menu ini berhubungan dengan fasilitas-fasilitas yang disediakan oleh Microsoft Visio. Beberapa fasilitas yang disediakan yang terdapat padamenu Tools antara lain Macro, Ruler & Grid.
7. Shape: menu untuk mengatur objek shape pada halaman pengerjaan.
